List of Awesome: December

posted in: List of Mayhem | 2

It’s December and I’m not sure how I feel about that. Too many baked goods early sunsets make me want to work out never. Personally I am not a fan of the cold weather so I’d like to see this season come and go quickly, but with Farmer’s Almanac predicting a very cold and wet winter I don’t think I’ll get my wish. Weather you love this time of year and all the cheesy made for tv holiday movies or not; here’s a list of some items to get you through the winter.

citruskissWhen you need something warm to drink I recommend this Good Earth Tea. With all natural flavors and packaging made from recyclables what’s not to love?! They’re flavors unique and are stronger than most brands which is always a plus. Having water that kinda taste like tea is never good. It’s carried in most major grocery stores, but it is online if you can’t find it!ColorsPortraits_35__00473.1408546921.195.195

Trying to shop with a purpose this year? Then check out Freedom in Fashion. They’re an Atlanta based (yay!) social business helping marginalized women get back to being independent and learning job skills. They have a wide variety of scarves with my favorite being the skinny scarves. They even have a collection of College game day colors so check it out and shop with a purpose.

Cold weather means netflix and If you need a good quality show then I suggest When Calls the Heart. Season 4 starts after the new year so you have time to get caught up in the story. It’s a wholesome show with the main characters showing good christian morals. No foul language or sexual content in this one. It’s about a one room school teacher who grew up privileged and ends up working in a coal mining town. Makes for a good mother daughter show. It airs on the hallmark channel.

Life in the Loft HouseWinter always reminds me I have a crock pot to cook with and I recently made this Beef stew. it’s easy and good. You can get the recipe here at Life in the Loft House.

What are some of your favorite items to battle the winter?

Sarah, I’m loving your blog! I’ve ordered some things from Corie Clark (I had never heard of her) and can’t wait to get them! Thanks for sharing ideas and your perspective. “Why we don’t want your stupid cupcakes” was hilarious!
